Building Materials Re-use Operation
Individuals and companies may donate their good quality new and used building materials to the Building Materials Resource Center, who will make them available, for a very modest fee, to low and moderate-income homeowners and nonprofits. Donors may claim a tax deduction for the fair market value of their donations AND save on disposal fees. Recipients gain access to the materials they need to repair and care for their homes affordably. And perfectly good building materials are diverted from landfills.

Home Improvement Workshops
In collaboration with the Boston Building Materials Co-op, the Building Materials Resource Center offers an ongoing series of home improvement workshops. For just $15.00/hour, BMRC customers may attend workshops on everything from painting, window rehab and tiling to plumbing, kitchen design, and repointing brick. Workshops are taught by trade professionals.

Homeowner Support
For just $12.00/hour, the Building Materials Resource Center offers one-on-one homeowner support services to help its income-eligible customers navigate the sometimes murky waters of home repair projects large and small. The BMRC's Homeowner Support Specialist will visit customers in their homes or meet with them at the BMRC store and office. Phone consults are also available.
