  1. How do I know that a nonprofit has received my donation?
    You receive an acknowledgment upon completion of your donation transaction. From that point on, the transaction is handled completely electronically and credited to the nonprofit's account at Eastern Bank. Credit card settlement times may vary, however, the donation should be credited to the nonprofit in about a week. The nonprofit should acknowledge your donation as well.

  2. Are there certain computer specifications needed for an individual to make a donation to a Nonprofit?
    Yes. You should be using a PC, not a MAC. Please be aware that Netscape and AOL users may experience difficulties with making donations. Netscape and AOL have certain restrictive settings that make the process unreliable.


  3. Why do you only have Eastern Bank nonprofit client's on your site?
    We minimize the costs of this service by creating a wholly electronic transaction and disbursal of funds which is only possible if a nonprofit has an account at Eastern Bank.

  4. What are the fees involved with making a transaction?
    This service is free except for the cost incurred by our processor which we pass on to the nonprofit.


  5. What are the benefits to being a Member Donor?
    You not only enter your credit card information once and it is stored, a report is kept for each Member Donor, that you can query at any time, keeping track of your donations. This report is especially helpful for tax purposes.


  6. The charge on my credit card is incorrect; who can I talk to to get this fixed?
    Please contact the Business Service Team at 1-800-333-8000.


  7. I am doing my taxes, but have no record of my donation, is there a way for me to get another receipt?
    If you are a Member of CommunityRoom.net, please login to the site and click "Giving History", input a From and To date range and click "Locate History" and you will receive a report on screen that you can print and keep for your records.


  8. I made a donation to a nonprofit, but have not received a letter of receipt, how do I get one?
    On the first page of each nonprofit section is all the contact information for the nonprofit. Contact the nonprofit directly for assistance. Please have your order information and receipt readily available.


  9. Why does your site use cookies? What are they used for?
    CommunityRoom.net uses cookies to make your visit more enjoyable. For instance, it is only through the use of cookies that you can move all around the site and it keeps track of where you are, allowing you to go back to your original search, or keep compiling your donations. At no time do we glean any personal information.

  10. Your site is telling me that I need to install a Flash Player plug-in? What is it and why do I need it?
    The flash plug-in is a small piece of software that is used to deliver certain features of the site. If you don't have the flash plug-in, you will not be able to view these features.


  11. The contact information for a nonprofit is not correct (i.e. - the telephone number), how can I contact them?
    If you cannot find them using an Internet site, such as yellowpages.com, please contact the Business Service Team by either calling 1-800-333-8000 or sending an email


  12. I tried clicking on a link to a nonprofit and it gave me an error.
    Please contact the Business Service Team by either calling 1-800-333-8000 or sending an email and describe the errror message in detail.


  13. Aside from Eastern Bank, the nonprofit, and myself, who else knows about my donation?
    No one.

  14. What is the minimum donation amount?
    Five Dollars.


  15. Why can't I make donations to certain nonprofits?
    Nonprofits can choose to accept donations or not. Those who elect not to receive donations online are more than likely funded by larger institutions. Please contact that particular nonprofit directly to find out more information.


  16. My Internet connection was severed while I was making a donation, how do I know if my donation went through?

  1. I represent a nonprofit, how can we join CommunityRoom.net?
    To apply to become a CommunityRoom.net Nonprofit Partner, please print and complete the CommunityRoom.net Service Agreement. A Letter of Determination issued by the IRS as verification of your organization’s 501(c)(3) status must accompany the CommunityRoom.net Service Agreement.




  2. I don't have my username and/or password. How do I get them?
    Please call the Business Service Team at 1-800-333-8000.




  3. Why do you only have Eastern Bank nonprofit client's on your site?

  4. What are the fees involved with making a transaction?
    As a Nonprofit, you will pay the service fees charged by the credit card companies for each transaction. These fees vary from vendor to vendor and are based on a percentage of the donation amounts. Please contact the CommunityRoom.net administrator for more assistance.




  5. Are there nonprofits that cannot be a part of CommunityRoom.net?
    Yes. There are several classifications of nonprofits and not all nonprofit donations are tax-deductible. Therefore, currently we have limited the CommunityRoom.net Nonprofit Partners to those that are classified with a 501(c) 3 status. For a detailed listing of criteria to become a CommunityRoom.net Nonprofit Partner, please go to Become a Nonprofit Partner.




  6. We need to update our contact information and/or other content. How do we do it?
    As a Nonprofit, you have the ability to update or add content to your site on CommunityRoom.net at any time. Simply go to www.communityroom.net/admin and login. (Please refer to question #2 if you don't have your username and/or password.) Remember to save all changes and then "Submit for Authorization" to update the content. Be aware that this process is not immediate. We must first approve your changes before they take effect. For more information consult your administrative manual (also found at www.communityroom.net/admin) or contact the CommunityRoom.net administrator for more assistance.



  7. We do not have our Administrative Manual. How can we get another one?
    The Administrative Manual is available online .




  8. Where do we view donations made to our organization?
    Go to the administrative part of the site (www.communityroom.net/admin), log in, click on the "Reports" link in the upper right corner of your screen. Enter the dates for a listing of donations made during that time.




  9. Are there certain computer specifications needed to make donations?
